How to Write the Introduction (40–60 words)
The introduction sets the tone for your essay. It should do three things:

Thesis statement - Briefly mention your two main supporting points.
Example Introduction (Topic: Free university education):
Some people argue that university education should be offered free of charge to all students. I strongly agree with this idea because it ensures equal opportunities for everyone and helps strengthen the national economy through a more skilled workforce.
Body Paragraph 1 (80–100 words)
Each body paragraph should follow a clear pattern:
Topic Sentence – state your main point.
Explanation – explain why this point supports your opinion.
Example – provide a specific example to illustrate your point.
Example Paragraph:
One key reason why university education should be free is that it creates equal opportunities for students from all social and economic backgrounds. When financial barriers are removed, talented individuals can pursue their goals regardless of family income. This not only helps individuals improve their lives but also reduces long-term inequality in society. For example, in countries like Germany and Norway, where universities charge no tuition, low-income students are just as likely to enroll and graduate as their wealthier peers. As a result, free education helps level the playing field and contributes to a fairer society overall.
Body Paragraph 2 (80–100 words)
The second body paragraph should introduce a new supporting point, follow the same structure, and reinforce your opinion.
Example Paragraph:
Another important reason to support free university education is its positive effect on the overall economy. When more people attend university, they gain advanced skills and knowledge that directly contribute to innovation, productivity, and national development. For instance, graduates often start businesses, work in high-demand fields, and pay more taxes over time, which benefits public services. This proves that investing in free education pays off by building a more competitive and stable economy.
Writing the Conclusion (30–50 words)
The conclusion should:
Restate your opinion in different words.
Summarize your two main supporting points.
Add a final thought or recommendation.
Example Conclusion:
In conclusion, I firmly believe that university education should be free. It promotes equal access for all and helps improve the national economy. Governments should consider this policy to build a more educated and inclusive society.
Sample Opinion Essay Prompts

Technology is making people more isolated from each other. Do you agree or disagree?
The best way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. Do you agree or disagree?
Remember: Choose one side, clearly state your opinion in the introduction, and defend it with two strong reasons.
